The Quote Process FAQ's
1. What service does MyLaptopBroke.com offer?
MyLaptopBroke.com specializes in giving you CASH for your broken and unwanted laptops. We make the process simple for you to send in your laptops, make some cash, and prevent e-waste from ending up in landfills!
2. Do you buy anything other than laptops? (i.e. Desktops, monitors, printers)
At this time we are only looking for laptops. If you have a netbook or portable communication device, you can submit a quote request using the Contact Us form.
3. How does this work from start to finish?
The visitor must request a quote using our "Get a Quote" page and fill in all the necessary information. We will respond to the provided contact email in a timely manner with a fair quote. Once you have accepted our quote, we will mail you a prepaid box with a return label as well. We pay for the entire shipping process - you pay NOTHING. Once you have received the box, please follow the enclosed instructions, pack your laptop, and bring it to your nearest Fedex Ship location. Once we receive your laptop, it is processed immediately. We will then submit payment to you via the option you selected - PayPal or check.
Please note that if the laptop arrives in a condition/specification that is different than described we will contact you with a revised quote reflecting the condition. You will have the option of accepting/rejecting the reflected quote. Any shipping related damages will be handled by Fedex and you will NOT be held liable.
4. Is the amount I am quoted the amount I will receive?
You should expect you receive the exact amount quoted to you unless your laptop arrives in a condition / specification that is different than described. We will contact you with a revised quote reflecting the condition. You will have the option of accepting / rejecting the reflected quote.
5. I want to get my money faster; can I use my own box and shipping method?
We understand the turn around time increases with the prepaid shipping option. If you are interested in shipping your laptop to us directly, via the carrier of your choice, please indicate that in your quote request. MyLaptopBroke.com will compensate you (up to $12) for your shipping expenses.
Please be sure to properly package your laptop with enough bubble wrap / cushioning and ensure that you purchase insurance on the value of the laptop.
The Inspection Process FAQ's
1. What does the inspection process entail and what about my data/privacy?
Once we receive your laptop, it is processed immediately. It is not necessary for you to clear your laptop prior to shipping. Every laptop has their hard drive fully erased and reformatted to remove any personal data before we process it any further. We use one of the industries BEST data destruction software so you can be worry free!
2. What does MyLaptopBroke.com evaluate during the inspection process?
Our quotes are accurately based on several factors including:
- Make and Model
- Specifications/production date
- Type of hardware failure
- Cosmetical condition
- Accessories included/missing
The Privacy Policy FAQ's
1. What does MyLaptopBroke.com do with my personal information?
MyLaptopBroke.com respects your privacy and will not sell your personal information. The personal information you provide when requesting a quote is solely used to send out your prepaid shipping material and to process your check/Paypal payment. We have no further use with your personal information. Additionally, you will not receive spam from us. We hate that stuff too.
The Payment Process FAQ's
1. How long before I can expect to be paid?
It takes MyLaptopBroke.com 24 hours to thoroughly evaluate your requested quote. Once you have accepted our quote, It takes about 4-5 business days for you to received your prepaid laptop shipping box. We suggest that you pack your laptop and fill out the enclosed form as soon as possible. The sooner you can have your prepaid box packed and brought to a Fedex ship facility, the sooner we can receive and inspect it. The inspection/processing process takes about 24 hours. We recommend that you accept web payments via Paypal to expedite the process but if you opt for a check, you should expect it in 3-5 days. The overall process takes about 2-3 weeks.
2. What is the Paypal option? What are the benefits?
